Hi there, I'm Ryan. For twenty years now, I have devoted myself to cultivating a consistent personal yoga practice, starting back when I was in college, when I took a class with a friend out of simple curiosity and to try something new. I could not have imagined at the time how this practice would then shape the rest of my life. Fast forward 20 years, and I can hardly recall a single week in which I haven't practiced to some degree. At a certain point, not quite sure when, I became fascinated by the concept of the mind-body-spirit connection--and this obsession has really driven my desire to deepen my practice and learn more about myself since it started. I have studied yoga, meditation, breathwork, and other contemplative practices in varying forms over the years.

My journey with yoga in particular includes intensive experience with both traditional and contemporary approaches to the practice--from Iyengar to Kundalini to Hatha and then Vinyasa, and I have had the privilege of practicing under countless teachers, each with varying experiences to incorporate into my own. I have personally researched the history of the Yoga Sutras, the original Sanskrit texts, the Chakra system, and many different forms of meditation--most specifically Zen, Vipassana, and Transcendental. Through my years of practice, I have witnessed directly the opportunity for growth, transformation, and healing that yoga can enable--and I have embodied these own experiences in myself as my own mind-body-spirit connection has improved through repetition.

I didn't always want to be an instructor, but about five years ago a fire was lit within me to share my practice with others; to hold space for community and to create a platform where others could work on themselves and to witness first-hand the benefits of the practice. What began as a personal pursuit has grown into something much larger than myself, and my mission at present is to pay-it-forward and dedicate myself in the service of others. In 2025 I received my 200-hour YTT certification with Yoga Flow, a Yoga Alliance-accredited program. Drawing from two decades of personal experience, I now hope to hold space for others to immerse themselves in their own personal practice. As an instructor, it is my intention to create a welcoming and safe environment and to encourage students to turn inward and assess their own personal identity through the lens of the practice. Fundamentally, I challenge students to explore the core yogic principle of becoming One with the Self and others by way of practicing movement and breathwork, and to cultivate a personal sense of mindfulness that extends far beyond the reaches of the four corners of the mat.
